This year our school will be participating in Red Ribbon Week from (October 23-31).  Red Ribbon Week is the oldest and largest alcohol, tobacco, other drugs, and violence prevention campaign in the country.  Red Ribbon Week serves as a vehicle for communities and individuals to take a stand for the hopes and dreams of our children through a commitment to drug prevention, education and a personal commitment to live drug-free lives.  The goal is to create awareness in our school community, and educate our students to commit to a drug-free lifestyle.

All week long (Oct. 22-26) students will have an opportunity to participate in activities that will assist in gaining knowledge to resist alcohol, tobacco, other drugs, and violence.  They will view a series of 5 DVD’s from specialist Fabian Ramirez, who takes a “big brother” approach in educating students about drugs.  On Thursday, October 25 we will have a Red Ribbon balloon launch.  Inside each of the balloons will be an Anti-Drug Pledge card signed by the students as a symbol of solidarity in the fight against the use of drugs.
